If used properly and in moderation (as it is high in omega-6 fats) this oil can provide certain health benefits. Ganesh oil traditionally used for curries and gravies, it can be mixed with foods that are hot and spicy as it neutralizes the heat. It is often mixed with a special spice powder that accompanies idli, dosa as well as rice mixed with spice powders (such as paruppupodi).
