Cloves are known for their very spicy and spicy taste. They are the dried, still closed flower buds of the clove tree. The herb is an approximately 1 cm long stem, with the bud on it, which is about 3 mm in diameter.

In the Netherlands it is known for its use in spice mixes for biscuits, such as speculaas. In stews, cloves are drawn in for a long time.

Usage

Due to the warm winter taste, cloves fit very well in spicy hot drinks such as mulled wine, Turkish coffee and winter tea. Cloves are also used in meat and rice, but also in spice mixes for biscuits, such as speculaas.
