Okra is an unripe fruit that is widely used and prepared as a vegetable, especially in Surinamese, Indian and Moroccan cuisine. It resembles green beans and aubergines with a fairly spicy taste.
Okra is one of the few exotic fruits that is not grown in Dutch greenhouses.
